After a long workweek, there’s nothing like unwinding with a cocktail, some dancing and a live band. Here in the Bethesda area, that’s made easy – lots of our local bars serve as live music venues that showcase city bands with dedicated followings. 

This weekend, instead of just catching dinner and a movie, head to one of these bars near your Elm apartment that are known for their impressive live music lineups. Make sure you get there early – these are popular spots that are sure to get packed!

Hank Dietle’s Tavern, located at 11010 Rockville Pike, Rockville which is 13 minutes from your Elm apartment, is a casual 1950s tavern offering beer in a bungalow with a porch, plus a pool table and live music.

As longtime supporters of and participants in Maryland’s music and dance scene, the new ownership team built on the success of the original Rockabilly Saturday Night to create an intimate venue with live music programming seven nights a week and at happy hours. Fans of live roots and retro music are once again able to enjoy and support the local music community as well as national touring acts in this historic neighborhood roadhouse. 

Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club, located at 7719 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda which is an eight minute walk from your Elm apartment, is intimate, art deco theater showcasing jazz, blues and more while serving Creole and American plates. 

Bethesda Blues and Jazz is a high end dinner theater that features some of the best in live music and entertainment. Here, catch gigs every weekend, including the Mary J Blige Tribute Band, the Sugarhill Gang, Proper Utensils, Jeffrey Osborne and more.
