We’re In The Midst of Lent: Here’s Where To Find Seafood Near Your Elm Apartment

Category: Food

Every year, millions of Christians all over the world prepare for Easter by, starting on Ash Wednesday, giving up something in their everyday lives as well as abstaining from eating meat on Fridays. To those in Bethesda with big appetites, that means one thing – it’s all about seafood Fridays!

Near your Elm apartment, you can find tons of seafood restaurants near you, from white-tableclothed fine dining establishments to casual joints known for their fried fish – some of which you can even take out to enjoy at home. Here’s where to head before Easter on April 9.

Bethesda Crab House, located at 4958 Bethesda Ave, Bethesda which is a nine minute walk from your Elm apartment, is a local hotspot dating back to 1961. Since then, it’s served oysters, shrimp, crabcakes, Alaskan King and Snow Crab legs, and, their specialty, Maryland Blue Crab.

The restaurant was opened by Henry Vechery and has been taken over by Henry’s son, Donald, but the tradition remains. They serve everyone from stars passing through to the fishermen who caught the crabs both at their indoor seating, outdoor seating and cozy bar.

Morton’s The Steakhouse, located at 7400 Wisconsin Ave, Bethesda which is a three minute walk from your Elm apartment, is an upscale chain for aged prime beef, seafood and other traditional steakhouse fare in a clubby space.

Morton’s The Steakhouse first opened its doors in 1978 and now welcomes guests to more than 65 worldwide locations. But don’t let its name fool you – Morton’s The Steakhouse also offer fresh, succulent seafood such as Chilean sea bass, oysters on the half shell, colossal shrimp, and King crab legs.
