After a day soaking up the sun, sitting on the beach or relaxing poolside, nothing is more fitting than a seafood dinner with freshly-caught clams, oysters, lobsters and other fish favorites.

Here in Bethesda, which has a seemingly endless number of top-notch seafood restaurants, it’s easy to enjoy your favorite seafood dish without going too far from your Elm apartment. Here are a few spots to get a bite.

Bethesda Crab House, located at 4958 Bethesda Ave, Bethesda which is a nine minute walk from your Elm apartment, is a no-frills crab house with a covered patio serving Maryland steamed crabs, crab cakes and more.

The Bethesda Crab House was opened in 1961 by Henry Vechery. Ever since, they have been sharing their family tradition of fresh seafood and crabs with the community. It has since been taken over by Henry’s son, Donald, but the tradition remains. They serve everyone from stars passing through to the fishermen who caught the crabs.

Black’s Bar & Kitchen, located at 7750 Woodmont Ave, Bethesda which is a 10-minute walk from your Elm apartment, is a New American seafood spot featuring organic ingredients, regional flavors and a prominent wine display.

Besides a restaurant, Black’s Bar & Kitchen now also has a seafood market, where you can pick up some of the same great ingredients they use on their menu and prepare them at home. Fish, shellfish and crustaceans are available daily from 12-6 p.m. The market is available for walk-in service, or you can call ahead and they will have your order ready for curbside pickup.
