Category: Uncategorized

With beautiful blooms every color of the rainbow, our Bethesda gardens are at their very best this month as spring is in full force! If you want to see them up close, you don’t have to venture far – there are lots of gardens near our Elm apartments that are ripe for exploring.

This weekend, get off the couch and instead, get some fresh air at some of these photo-worthy gardens that are only a short drive from home. It’s the perfect opportunity to get a walk in and enjoy the sunshine!

McCrillis Gardens, located at 6910 Greentree Rd, Bethesda which is nine minutes from your Elm apartment, is a five-acre park featuring a stone manor house, old-growth trees, shaded gardens and more.

The gardens feature paths that wind through the remarkable collection of ornamental trees and shrubs, along with bulbs, groundcovers and shade-loving perennials that add year-round color and texture.  A pavilion and benches provide restful vantage points. McCrillis Gardens is reminiscent of a secret garden, hidden in the heart of Bethesda.

Brookside Gardens, located at 1800 Glenallan Ave, Wheaton which is 18 minutes from your Elm apartment, features colorful plantings, shimmering ponds, and breathtaking landscapes. It’s often described as the jewel of the local park system.

The Gardens were founded in 1969 and named for the winding brooks and streams that surround this extraordinary public display garden. The 50-acre property features intricately designed gardens with exquisite combinations of color, texture, scent, and scale that merge together to delight the senses – all easily viewed from tranquil walking trails, comfortable benches, and shady gazebos.
