Enjoy The Great Outdoors This Spring Near your ELM Apartment
Category: UncategorizedIt’s been a long winter, and an even longer year, and while living in downtown Bethesda may feel like living in the city, the great outdoors is actually right at your finger tips here at The ELM. The Montgomery Park System has over 250 miles of trails! Even the most beautiful of apartments can still give you cabin fever after months of quarantine, so get outdoors this spring and breathe in that fresh spring air at these local parks with walking trails.
Elm Street Urban Park – A scenic little park just across the street from us, Elm Street Urban Park packs in a whole lot for such a small bit of green space. It comes equipped with a playground and picnic area, ready for a lunch date or a game of basketball. However, Elm Street Urban Park is also the place to pick up one of our area’s major trail ways. The Capital Crescent Trail goes 11 miles all the way to Georgetown. A paved route that goes along the path of an old railroad, this trail is perfect for bikers and walkers alike. With 5 miles in Maryland, this is the most popular trail way in Montgomery County, with a long scenic stretch of it that goes along the Potomac River.
Norwood Local Park – Another popular and much bigger park is also within walking distance of the ELM – Norwood Local Park is THE place to play in Bethesda. With areas for tennis, basketball and ball fields, there’s always a game happening at this Bethesda park. However, it’s great for a walk outdoors as well! In Norwood Local Park, you can pick up the Little Falls Trail, a paved route that goes for three miles through shaded woodlands and alongside old mills and waterfalls. It’s a beautiful route that you can do within your lunch hour!
